CPIH is the most comprehensive measure of inflation. It extends CPI to include a measure of the costs associated with owning, maintaining and living in one's own home, known as owner occupiers' housing costs (OOH), along with council tax. This dataset provides CPIH time series (2005 to latest published month), allowing users to customise their own selection, view or download.

The CPIH indices are categorised according to the international classification system for household consumption expenditures known as COICOP (Classification Of Individual Consumption According to Purpose). COICOP is a hierarchical classification system comprising of Divisions (COICOP2) e.g. 01 Food & non-alcoholic beverages, Groups (COICOP3) e.g. 01.1 Food, and Classes (COICOP4) e.g. 01.1.1 Bread and cereals. An additional level of detail was added to the COICOP classification on the 21 March 2017 (COICOP5) which is now the lowest published level.
